  1. An autism diagnosis is a description, not a prediction. It gives you better information about how your child experiences the world — and better information usually makes parenting easier, not harder.

    • Autism is a spectrum: no two autistic children look the same.
    • Children can have real strengths and real support needs at the same time.
    • A diagnosis does not tell you what your child's future will be.
    • Behavior is usually communication — especially when words are hard.
    • Sensory differences are very common and often explain a lot.
    • Support should be built around your individual child, not a checklist.
